Man Man Announce Headlining Tour with Performances at Rothbury & 80/35 Festival

Fresh off of two wildly different but perfectly congruous tours with Cursive and Gogol Bordello – Man Man will be kicking off their very own headlining tour July 3rd at the Rothbury Festival. With stops scheduled at the 80/35 Music Fest and a free performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for Studio -A-Rama’s 28th Anniversary event, the band is taking their brazenly boisterous live shows through the East Coast and Midwest.

The New York Times describes Man Man as a “delirious, scrapheap-eclectic Philadelphia outfit” that is known for a non-stop live set with a revolving door momentum of kaleidoscopic sound . The Aquarian further explains Man Man live as “a vaudevillian clash of sinfully delicate doo wop, virtuosic free jazz, heart-gripping, gut-crunching, intense punk rock energy, free flowing danceable funk, and above all, Eastern European tinged two step polka…love them or hate them, Man Man is a band you have to respect for their live show.”

Philly’s Finest Also on Bill for Second Annual Rothbury Festival

Man Man are taking to the road with Cursive starting April 24th in Dallas, TX and Gogol Bordello starting May 29th in Kansas City, MO. The raucous Philadelphia five-piece have been touring the past year in support of their latest Rabbit Habits, called “one of the year’s best rock albums (devoid of any guitar parts mind you)” by Pitchfork. Filter wrote “the songs are smart, kooky, and even sexy with an inert disregard for commonality - - - and that's good enough for us to order a glass of whatever they're having."

Legendary for non-stop live shows that involve swapping most instruments and improving others, Man Man had lately been in songwriting hibernation. In addition to the Cursive and Gogol Bordello tours, they will also celebrate the 4th of July weekend at the Rothbury festival with the likes of Bob Dylan and the Dead.

ANTI- Records launched its new 08/09 music sampler today on-line via the ANTI- blog and in stores with dozens of participating independent retailers around the country. In a special promotion running through the holidays, local music retailers will be offering the newest releases from ten of ANTI's latest and greatest artists for under $10. With purchase, the buyer will receive a copy of the new ANTI- sampler, or it can be downloaded for free directly from the ANTI- blog.

It is both a look back at a spectacular 2008, which saw releases from artists such as Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Jolie Holland and Michael Franti & Spearhead called "career bests," and a look into the New Year, including the following:

He stole James Dean's girl, listened for two days while Jack Keroac read him On the Road and taught Dylan everything he knew, now Ramblin' Jack Elliott is trying something new: lending his plaintive drawl to Depression-era blues classics. Famed Live Performers Tap Equally Acclaimed Labelmate Tim Fite to Support Select Dates

After a recent show-stopping performance at Seattle's Bumbershoot music festival, Man Man are set to resume their merry-making in Los Angeles on September 19th. Non-stop touring in support of their Anti- Records debut Rabbit Habits has seen Man Man crisscrossing the US, sleeping on floors in Europe and winning fans at each show. The legend of the Man Man live experience - which includes a whirlwind of songs that flow seamlessly from one to the other amidst a jumble of swapped instruments and found objects - grows exponentially as ardent fans, clad, Man Man-style (mustached, real or fake, war painted and in all-white), carry the message out into the world.
